Features & benefits
At first glance, what catches the eye when looking at the family of measuring inductive sensors offered by Baumer is their compact design. Every version is designed as a pure 3-wire sensor and therefore requires no external electronics. This is as true for the smallest liner sensor world-wide, in a rugged 4 mm chromium steel housing. The latter offers a measuring distance of 1 mm at a resolution of 1 µm. The overlapping measuring ranges of the AlphaProx family of analog sensors together cover a total range from 0 to 16 mm. A whole new world of inductive distance measurement therefore opens itself to the user thanks to this line of sensors with their Teach-in input and factory-implemented output signal linearization. With the aid of the Teach-in function the usable measuring range can be optimally adjusted to any application, the effective direction of the current or voltage signal can be selected to suit the specific application. The two switching points of the separate PNP output with window function can also be defined in this way.
